Life Interrupted.

Talk of an interrupted life!
I literally know what that means, the only difference here is that the interruption is the handwork of someone I cannot resist.
A man who wouldn’t take advantage of my vulnerability…and somehow, it all seems good although a little bit scary; you can’t predict where the next step you’re taking will lead you. I’ve however learned to trust in Him who is ordering my steps.

I think this really pictures what Abraham felt when he was leaving everyone and the place he knew so well for a place he knew nothing about.
Talk about walking on water; this is what it really feels like.
Talk about Mary Magdalene breaking her alabaster box at the feet of Jesus.
That was all she could do; pouring out her love on the Master although people around her didn’t get her, the same way they wouldn’t get a woman whose life is being interrupted.

Talk about Mary, yes Mary, the one whom the Holy Ghost gave power to bear the Holy Child.
She said YES without really knowing what she was getting into but it was a path that she herself must tread.
…but she didn’t have to go through it alone because the
One who interrupted her life decided to go with her.

The most beautiful part is that He doesn’t just interrupt your life, He compensates you for it. …and at the end, we will all discover that there isn’t life outside His will.

So when next you feel people around aren’t getting you, know that they weren’t supposed to get you in the first place.
Only the One who has interrupted your life will really get you.
So rest(Shabbat) in Him and let His love see you through.

Be still and know that He is LORD- Sovereign.

Meet a virtuous teen- M.V.T

IMG-20170122-WA0003.jpgM.V.T: Can we meet you please?

Seyifunmi: Thank you so much for the honour of being  interviewed on this platform. My name is OLA-SAMUEL Oluwaseyifunmi. The one who is loved by the One who is LOVE

M.V.T: Hmm… “the one who is loved by the One who is LOVE” I love that.
Can you please tell us about your educational background?

Seyifunmi: For my primary school education, I attended Glad Tidings Nursery and Primary School at Ibadan. And then i proceeded to Rhema Chapel International College where I was an Art student after which I gained admission into Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife where I  am presently studying Law.

M.V.T:  What motivated your choice of course?

Seyifunmi: Why Law? Lol. Okay…I’ve always wanted to be a lawyer right from when I was a kid. So it was more of a childhood desire. Also, my compassionate side didn’t allow me rest… you know, the raw desire to treat people right and see people been treated right and all.

M.V.T:  So what fellowship or church do you attend in school and what’s your involvement there?

Seyifunmi: I attend Christ Way Campus Resource (CWCR) OAU where I am a member of the welfare unit  and I was recently appointed as the Assistant General Secretary(AGS).

M.V.T: How has being the AGS affected you?

*Seyifunmi*: Hmmm. Well, it has been really challenging me to do more and give more. Its more of service for me. I see it as a call to serve and give more into people. And definitely you cannot give anything from an empty cup. So I can say in these last few months, I have been propelled to invest more in myself in other to enable me serve God and His people well and also to impact the lives He has placed around me with His
help. In addition to this, it has helped me become conscious of always doing the right thing i.e leading by example.

M.V.T: How has university life been for you?

*Seyifunmi*: Lol. Its been God o. Its definitely been tasking but then, when you have God and learn to rest on Him, He makes things easier. It has also been a platform to grow more, learn more and know more. So basically my life on campus is primarily centered around God and this has a way of  influencing the things I involve myself in; books, friends, activities, social life and all.

M.V.T: Since you’ll be saying goodbye to the  teen world this year tell us how teen life has been for you?

*Seyifunmi*: I had the regular teenage life. Attended classes and ensured I prepared well for exam. But one thing I appreciate about that season of my life was that, God had His eyes on me and helped me through the regular temptations of a secondary school teenager. Also, one way He helped me through this season, was by linking me with a teenage ministry- MINE Teenage ministry. I have been extremely blessed and sharpened by their conferences and magazines. And yes, I can’t but mention that I had teachers who became friends that believed in my raw form and gave me the push I needed.

M.V.T:What is your favourite bible passage?

*Seyifunmi*:I think any scripture that ministers to me at a particular time. But any scripture that reminds me of how much God loves me always bring tears to my eyes. So far its Isaiah 54:10(msg)

M.V.T:Please tell us about your salvation experience?

*Seyifunmi*: Salvation experience…I really don’t have a specific date. I grew up in a christian and God fearing home but I never took my relationship with God serious until I was about 13years. And at that time, God raised agents that made me long after Him. One very strong agent He used was MINE Magazine. It was really a propelling force to seek God then.  Also, my parents really contributed a great deal as they always spelt out the fact that God was and is still our only One.
Am I saying that the devil never tried snatching me away? No. In fact along the line, I got hooked on some addictions but then Jesus fought and won for me. And the journey with Him so far has been amazing and wonderful as I learn daily.

M.V.T:Tell us a little about life in secondary school?

*Seyifunmi*: Woah…life in secondary school for me was a little different from other girls o. Academically, it was wonderful. God blessed me with some wonderful teachers and amazing parents that believed in me and kept pushing me to my best. Although initially…in J.S.S 1, I wasn’t too serious but with spankings from Mumsi (Lol) and prayers, God took over my life😄. Boy issues…they were quite minimal though. Never received a love letter, no toasting from classmates and all, no valentine gifts(lol). Did I feel awkward during those times? Yes, but those times taught me to celebrate and love my self. So if you are going through same, please don’t let your self image or esteem suffer. Love and celebrate yourself. And enjoy every moment with God. Please make wonderful friends too. My best friend till date was my classmate and really I have never regretted we being friends. Please keep the right kind of friends.

M.V.T:What are your hobbies?

*Seyifunmi*:Planning and running around for events, listening to music, conversing and hospitality.

M.V.T:Please tell us about your life’s dreams?

*Seyifunmi*: To become a barrister and work with the United Nations. Also, to have an NGO committed to providing help to women and children and empowering small scale businesses. To own a large scale production farm, channeled to provide food for the citizens of this country, to build the Nigerian economy and fund kingdom projects. To own an event company and invest in business opportunities. Furthermore, to be a wonderful mother and wife. Lastly and most importantly is to be a representative of Christ on earth, daily exhibiting His very nature and to also live a life of purpose and impact.

M.V.T:How far have you gone in achieving these dreams and visions?

*Seyifunmi*: Well, God has really been faithful. He has been the major source of encouragement. Currently,I am in the university studying Law. Also, working on starting a small farm that would grow into that bigger dream. For the event company, I am presently attached to two companies that I work for, Bridal Showers and Transcend events. These and some other things are what God is using to actualize my dreams. And I am all that I am by the grace of God.

M.V.T:What role has your family played in making you who you are today?

*Seyifunmi*: Woah…really words can’t express how blessed I am to have them. They are my no one Fan. There has never been a time when their personal interest is forced on me. My family is one that encourages me to be whatever i want as long as its God’s plan for my life. They are ever supportive, encouraging, loving and always propelling. I can’t say how grateful to God I am that I have them. They have really made life easy.

M.V.T:How will you define virtue in your own words?

*Seyifunmi*: Truthfully, defining this is quite difficult as the word is an ambiguous one. But then I would say that it is making God proud, having a healthy and ‘blessed’ relationship with people, impacting lives and having good testimonies being said about you.

M.V.T:What do you think makes you qualify to be called a virtuous teen?

*Seyifunmi*: Well, the fact that I have God in me who is working in me both to will and do of His good pleasure. I am not near perfect yet but then with God as my Instructor, trainee and coach, then perfection is the end result.

M.V.T:What do you have to say about some teenagers that feel it is only when they are in their mid-twenties they can be virtuous?

Seyifunmi: Definitely, I don’t support this idea. Right where you are and at this current age is the time to start showcasing the virtue God has embedded in you. You are never too small to bring glory to God. Samuel’s life brought honour to God even when he was a child. To the glory of God,I organized my first major event at the age of 16. So I don’t believe there is a particular age and time to start being virtuous. Life is short and time waits for no man. So please starting living a virtuous and impactful life.

M.V.T:What do you think a teen must do or have to become virtuous?

*Seyifunmi*: Basically, please have and love God. Get deeply rooted in Him. Obey His instructions and leadings. There is no one who hands over his or her life to God and He doesn’t make it wonderful. Also, please love others.

M.V.T:Thank you. It was a pleasure chatting with you.

*Seyifunmi*: The pleasure is all mine

  1. This *LOVE* matter is *BLOODY*

Maybe you didn’t expect me to start with such a gruesome expression for something as mild and romantic as L-O-V-E. Well, but there it is, and I want to repeat it for emphasis *Love is a bloody affair*.

It’s unfortunate that if many were to really see what love involves, *’I love you’* would never spill from the lips of some. ‘I love you’ has now become a call and response chorus that guys use to manipulate the emotions of their female counterparts. ‘I love you’ chorus is now what the females now use as a wager to keep their Boos in their lives. ‘I love you’ is the string parents pull when they want that child to do their bidding, whether in line with proper value system and the child’s life purpose or not. ‘I love you’ is now totally abused! A pity!

Do you know the power of love? It’s beyond that butterfly feeling you have when you see him, or the way your heart race when you see her. All this are things you can experience if you go to an art exhibition or ride in fast car.

Scripture describes blood as that which contains life, “the life of a thing is in the blood”. When I say love is a bloody affair, it means, *TRUE LIFE IS FOUND IN LOVE* It therefore implies that without love, you are as good as a living dead! Ouch!!

Scriptures also poses that you can use up your life saving to build a monument and dash it out to someone, or you could even ask to be tied to a stake to die for someone, yet all this aren’t indicators that you have love in its true essence. *Love is a serious matter*

One major attribute of live is that, *Love cares more for others than self*. This is an attribute that many ladies of this generation lack. We are always thinking of what is in it for us, how can I gain from it. Even the things we give are given because you want to receive when it’s your own birthday!  Wake up! Love isn’t about ‘me first’. Nah!!

For the girls forcing themselves on the ‘freshest guy in the hood’, babe, wake up. Love doesn’t force itself on others, you obviously don’t even love yourself enough to even love someone else.

Okay so you want to be crowned ‘Miss Fresher of the year’, so you jump all over the place listening to some guys claiming they love you and can help be get the award. You consider it. You even consider it, wake up love. Love doesn’t use others!

It’s important you understand this love matter this season. Those professing love for you after having their fill of you, where are they currently? Let me tell you about true love.

One of the amazing things about True Love is that He never selects those He loves, even you, despite all that has happened. He still loves you.

He came around to carry the burden of your sin, this was beyond the cross He was carrying. Please note he wasn’t carrying this cross for gym-ing sake. Nop. As he dragged the heavy piece of wood through the dusty street, he was wiped mercilessly. He received this whips as they tore open his body and blood gushed out writhing in pain but thinking of you. He wasn’t getting the strokes because He was in a ‘win-a-wife competition’, no, He took it all for you. He went through the shameful drag all because of you. He later hung on this cross and died on that cross looking like a disfigured blood grotesque! All because of you!!

If any guy says ‘I will die for you’, please tell him someone has already beat him to it. Stop selling yourself short. True love isn’t as far as it seems. It is closer than your peeps. Just ask.

FAITH!! Starting to write on this word seems a great unending task. Faith is one very big word, one of the most commonly uttered word on a Christian’s lips. ‘Have faith!’, ‘Where is your faith?’ are replies that a Christian spills out. Everyone says faith, but very few people do know faith.
So what indeed is Faith? Let’s start with 1 Corinthians 13:13a
“And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; …”
God’s word through Paul explains that many things could count but not all of these things would last. He however concluded that there are three things that last forever; FAITH was one.
Before we use the familiar Hebrews 11, Faith is a dependence on the veracity of another. Faith is firm belief in something in particular; it could be a person, doctrine or even a statement. Faith according to Hebrews 11 is confident assurance and faith is a very vital part of being a Christian. The sixth verse of Hebrews 11 says that it is even impossible to please God without it. How come? That same verse divides faith into two major parts; one, Faith is believing there is a God and two, that God is a rewarder. Little wonder faith is vital.
How do you please someone you don’t even believe exists? And how does somebody that do not exist give you anything as a reward? So first, Faith is believing there is a God. If you believe there is a God, you must also know the abilities, qualities, reputation and all the news around about that God. Faith is needed for you to conclude that this very God is very and far different from just a statue of ritualistic worship. I remember at a point in my life, I would ask questions within me “Is there really somebody up there? Who found Him?” May I inform you that I never found anyone to prove whether He existed or not to me. I just had to conclude. That’s faith. It doesn’t make sense, nobody will give you faith or even if they really wanted to help, they will get you more confused. The more you try to dig the beginning of God’s existence, you go crazily confused all the more. When we believe that God exists, we also need to hold on to the authenticity of that God. That’s the first, we must believe that He is.
Secondly, that God is a rewarder. Remember that centurion who pleaded that Jesus heal his servant? His faith struck Jesus. That man would have heard that there was a Jesus who had been healing people. All the information he gathered had built up something unshakable inside of him and he said to Jesus, if we use our today words; “ God!, don’t even bother following me home to pray for my servant, I have heard many things about you. Weren’t you the same person who healed Mr. Leprosy and delivered Mr. Simon’s mother-in-law of fever? My servant isn’t even a leper or as sick as the woman with fever. Just as all the other things you said while healing people, kindly repeat it and I am so certain that my servant will be well again.”
Haha! Whoa! That is the way Jesus would have felt. Imagine you are a special guest at an occasion and before you come up for your talk, the moderator begins to read your profile, saying you are this and you did that and goes on and on. Right where you are seated, you would be saying ‘oh, is this me? I did all this?’. That’s the same way God feels when we have faith, we are telling Him that ‘I trust you anyway and anyhow’. In Deuteronomy 32:20, God was furious with the people of Israel, he called them children in whom is no faith. The Israelites had seen God work RAW! They had seen the ten plagues in Egypt, they had also seen the red sea part to give them a path. But they couldn’t keep focus straight. They quickly forgot all He had been doing for them, manna provision? Water? And just at every new situation, God’s ability to help them began to shake in their hearts. And that’s the devil’s trick, he usually helps us to see our present situation as so mighty that it covers up all of God’s faithfulness.
Take a pause…… Search deep within ….. Has God ever done anything for you? Has He ever given you victory? Has he ever answered your prayers? Sure He has. What about that time when you thought you were going to die from that illness, that time when you thought failure was going to be all over your school report, that day when you were going to eat your last meal and die, that time, that day, that issue you got over with after many pains. There certainly is something. Do not let the present problem cover up your trust. If God took you through the red sea, He can surely turn bitter water sweet. Imagine if the Hebrew boys (Meshach, Shedrack and Abednego) bowed saying ‘Let’s just pretend as if we are bowing down, God knows our heart”. They wouldn’t have gotten any attraction that warranted the burning furnace. But no! They insisted that God would save them. How did they know? I bet you they weren’t so sure but they banked on the correctness and ability of the God they knew. God is a rewarder, He would never leave you stranded.
Noah built the ark, by faith. Abraham was about to slay Isaac, David defeated Goliath, that’s all faith at work. Faith is not just something on thin air, it comes and it gets built gradually by what has happened, by hearing and hearing the testimonies about God. Through faith, we can subdue kingdoms, obtain promises, wrought righteousness, escape devil’s attack and be made strong. Faith is not because you see it, instead it is because you know it even if you can’t see it. Faith is unshakable, no matter what will happen, faith wouldn’t move, rather faith moves the situation. Faith is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we cannot see it up ahead (2 Cor 5:7). The shocking thing is that most of the listed heroes of faith in Hebrews 11 did not even receive the promise (Verse 13 and 39). The disciples had told Jesus at one time to increase their faith, we can pray that prayer too because according to God, a mustard seed sized faith can move mountains into the sea. Mathew 21:22 says whatsoever you shall ask in prayer, BELIEVING, you shall receive, Have faith in God! He isn’t a liar neither is He a joker. He will do exactly what He says.
Mark 11:22-23 says “Whosoever shall say……and shall not doubt….but shall believe….he shall have whatsoever he saith.” In faith, WHOSOEVER CAN HAVE WHATSOEVER. James further says that let not a doubtful man think he will receive anything from God. Why? Because he is not always sure, the problem he sees today buries his God knowledge of before. God can do exceedingly above all we ask or think, whether we feel it, see it, think it or not, He can. Whether things are crumbling right before our eyes, He certainly can. Can God find faith in you?
So let’s go back to where we started
“And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; …”
Faith will remain because our God is forever and ever. Even when the world comes to an end with all its problems, there will still be our God seated in majesty up above. We believe that even if the situations of our lives are neck deep, we will triumph because He has overcome the world. We believe His power, we believe His grace, we believe His miracles, we believe His word, we believe His reward, we believe in heaven, we believe God. Yes we believe.
Say to someone today “Have faith” and mean it.

Thank you so much G-Class Lady Praise for this awesome opportunity to write in this powerful blog. It’s a great honor and I don’t take it lightly at all. Thank you too for taking time to read this, I pray you will be greatly encouraged by this.
Disappointment in relationships, Failure in examinations, Delay in life milestones, Economic Recession, Death of dearly loved ones, Lack of resources……. the list is inexhaustible and that’s what the human eye sees every time we take a mental tour of the world we live in. When we listen to the News, both locally and internationally, we hear more of bad news than good news! It’s obvious to every one living in this time that bad things happen to good people and that makes us say things like ‘it’s not fair’ ( I remember I said that a lot when I was in Secondary School). The truth is as long as we live on this side of eternity, we are likely to experience shakings that we can either turn into a dance or a shiver. Really, if we knew all the twists and turns that seem to be customised for each of our lives, we would probably live very ‘bland’ lives just waiting for the defining moments. But there is something about our make up as humans that makes us look forward for something. We seem to always expect something, either rewards for the good done or consequences of the bad caused.
Hope is an optimistic attitude of mind that is based on an expectation of positive outcomes related to events and circumstances in one’s life or the world at large; to expect with confidence; and to cherish a desire with anticipation. One special thing the Creator wired into us as humans is the free will which helps us to decide what we want or make choices. Many times, we have no power over what life throws at us or how people treat us but we always have the power to decide how we respond to situations or people.
Scripture says in Ecclesiastes 9:4(CEV) that as long as we are alive, we still have hope, just as a live dog is better off than a dead lion. . As long as you can read this piece, it means that you are alive and that is the greatest assurance that there is hope. The anchor scripture for this write up is 1Corinthians 13:13 and looking up other scriptures, we discover that Faith, Hope and Love are linked. Hebrews 11 talks about Faith being the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen while 1Corinthians 13 talks about Love believing all things and hoping all things. I imagine that someone reading this is thinking, this girl does not know what she’s saying, when she hears my story and where I’m coming from, she won’t be talking about hope. True I don’t know where you have been but I know that you have not kept yourself alive and the One who has kept you alive  says He is the hope of glory.
Let me quickly share the lyrics of the chorus of a song I heard in Church today – In the Eye of the Storm by Ryan Stevenson:
‘In the eye of the storm, You remain in control
In the middle of the war, You guard my soul
You alone are the anchor when the sails are torn
Your love surrounds me in the eye of the storm’
God has not promised us a smooth sail on this end but He has promised “I will never [under any circumstances] desert you [nor give you up nor leave you without support, nor will I in any degree leave you helpless], nor will I forsake or let you down or relax My hold on you [assuredly not]!” Hebrews 13:5b(AMP). No matter what happens to you, please keep hope alive knowing that it will come to pass. Please listen to these wise sayings:
Hope….sometimes, that’s all you have when you have nothing else. If you have it, you have everything… Anonymous
Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all the darkness. …Desmond Tutu
The only difference between those who threw in the towel and quit and those who used their energy to rebuild  and kept it going is found in the word Hope…Anonymous
Just like the farmer waits expectantly (Hope) after sowing and doing the essentials for the harvest, Just like the pregnant woman waits expectantly (Hope) for the arrival of her baby or babies and in fact doing everything she can to make sure arrival is not earlier than planned, I want to encourage to hold on. Someone defined Hope as Hold On Pain Ends. But while you wait, what are you expected to hold on to if not the word of God and His promises to you. I’m sure you know He CANNOT lie and He CANNOT fail you. He is an expert in turning messes into messages and rewriting stories.
It doesn’t matter how far you feel you have fallen, beneath you are His everlasting arms and you can be sure that you can never fall beyond His reach. It doesn’t matter who you are praying for or what you have been praying for. It doesn’t matter what others have said concerning the issue or how long the fight has been on. All that matters is Christ is Our Hope!
Let me end with this verse in Job that I love – For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, it will sprout again….. Job 14:7a. Please don’t give up the fight! Please don’t throw in the towel! Please keep believing! Hold on a little longer! With hope, the burden becomes easier to bear.

G- Class Girls.

Yes! I am a girl but I’m not like any other girl. I am a God class girl.

I live my life based on the standard of the Lord Jesus Christ. His values are my values. I know that my worth is not in the things I possess but in the worth of the precious blood of Jesus.
Though they say I am weak but that doesn’t mean I should be treated without regard it just implies that I am delicate and I should be handled with care because even though I am not too strong physically my mind is a very strong weapon when i put to use. I can build lives with the God-given abilities that pours from my mind if they are rightly utilized.
My thinking pattern is positive because I have the mind of Christ and I see things in a different way because I see from God’s point of view. I live a balanced life. I feed my spirit with the word of God and the things of God but I don’t neglect other aspects of my life too. I take care of my body because I know it is the temple of God and that is what makes me stand by my decision to be sexually pure.
Living life as a female can be stressful, trust me but being in God’s class makes it pretty easy  because I don’t have to do it alone. We are partners, God and I, and He leads me through every stage of my life. He helps me to be the best I can be in each and every one of them. All my being is in Him. I live for Him. I live in him because I was crafted by him so all that I am and will ever be is hidden in him. He unravels them in his time and that is why I am CHIC (crafted and hidden in Christ). My ‘chicness’ reflects in my dressing. I believe in decency and modesty because I know I am a Princess representing God’s class so I don’t dress like every other girl because a Princess doesn’t dress like every other girl.
The way I talk is different from the way other girls talk because He has seasoned my words with salt, wisdom and grace. I use my words to build life not to destroy them. I speak life.
I mange my time well because I know the time I have each day is  given to me by God and I have to do all the assignments He has given me to do because the night cometh when no man can work. My time equals my life so with His help I manage it well.
When people look at me, all they see is God because I’m His girl. You can say I have a perfect life, maybe, but I didn’t start out like this, at least not until I joined the ‘God class Girls’
You don’t need to have it all together to join the ‘God Class Girls.’  You just need to come to Him just the way you are acknowledging your sins and weaknesses and His ability to cleanse you from all your sins and defeat these weaknesses.
Ask Him to be your Lord and Saviour, believe he has forgiven you and begin to live your life based on His word and wholla! You are already a member of ‘God Class girls’.
I believe you’ve taken the prayer and so I can say “welcome to God’s Class. You are now a God’s girl.” Henceforth when people see you, all they will see is God because you are now His girl, old things are passed away and all things have become new.

Welcome to 2017.

It’s with utmost joy I write to you this year. I am sorry this is coming late but it’s better late than never- HAPPY NEW YEAR.
This is your year of all round VICTORY in Jesus name.
I want you to start this year with God. Seek God like you’ve never done before this year because Him alone can make your way prosperous. Don’t just slip through this year, instead make every day of this year count; be intentional. I want you to know that whatever you set your heart to do this year that is God’s will for you will come to pass if you work towards it and you put Him first. Don’t just dream about those things, work towards them. And remember everyday counts!

Don’t go through this year afraid because God is with you and He has promised never to leave you nor forsake you. Trust Him!Forget the past, learn what you can from it and move on. Don’t let your past hinder you but instead let it propel you to aim for a better 2017. God can give you a fresh start if you let Him. He can make you brand new.

Remember that if you’ve given your life to Christ YOUR LIFE IS BRAND NEW. Everyday is fresh for you in God. GOD IS STRENGTH TO YOU (Psalms 18: 2). So seize the day! Welcome to your year of VICTORY!

I love you but not as much as Christ does!

The K.I.T Series- your financial life.

This marks the end of the K.I.T series and also the beginning of the year 2017. I thank God for keeping us this far and for providing for all our needs last year. I want you to take few minutes to think about how much money you spent last year, the significant things you bought, the insignificant ones and judge if you spent your money wisely or not. If you like it or not, how successful you will become in life depends on how wise you are in the usage of everything God has put at your disposal which includes MONEY. Money like every other thing in life, if you aren’t intentional with its usage will develop wings and fly away leaving you wondering what you achieved with it.

A Pastor I respect so much, Pastor Oluwatimilehin Adigun of Mine Teenage Ministry mentioned three things money should be used for. He said “SPEND some, SAVE some, GIVE some.” It’s that simple. How well you use your money depends on these things.

1. Spend some: I asked three teen girls what comes to their mind when they hear money and they all gave the same answer in different ways. They all said “spending.” You use money to meet your needs and note I said “needs and not wants.” You can want something and it might not be what you actually need at the moment.  For example, you can want a pair of beautiful earring while you need a pair of black shoe because the one you have is spoilt and at the same time you still have other good and beautiful earrings you can use for the main time. If you will make a wise decision at this point it will be to buy the shoe and not the earrings. When dealing with more than one need you have to follow what in Economics is called “scale of preference.” This is just you listing your needs in their order of priority so you can go for the one that is most pressing at the moment.
I also want you to know that when you are spending your money on something make sure you are going for “quality” and not just for “quantity”. It’s wise for you to buy a product of high quality that will last you for years than to buy a product of low quality that you will only use for months or even weeks. Note that “quality” does not denote “expensive.” A product can be of  a high quality and still be at an affordable price while a product can be expensive and be of a very low quality. That is why you have to compare different products, what they can do and their prices before you put your money on it; this is called WISDOM. To enable you curtail your spending I will advice that you work with  having a budget per month. When you spend your money wisely you will still have enough left to save and that takes me to our next point.

2. Save some: Saving money is like the most difficult thing for people to do most especially young people but the earlier you learn to start doing it the earlier you will begin to experience a sense of financial security. There are different means of saving money. You can decide to open a savings account (with any bank   of your choice) where you save your money into from time to time. You can also buy a small saving box where you can keep your money in. You can decide on a particular amount you want to save per week or per month and determine not to  touch the money till you need it for something urgent. No matter what means you use to save your money the end point is what matters “and that is for you to be able to have money to attend to unforseen events.” Nothing in this world is permanent. Things happens that catches one unawares and in situations like that you need money to attend to such things.  That is why you have to be prepared for your future financially. So, the next time you are tempted to buy what you don’t need just because you have too much money on you remember to SAVE for the rainy day.

3. Give some: This is like one of the best things you can use your money to do because when you give it comes back to you in a good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over. There are two set of people you need to give too-  GOD and the needy.
God says in the book of Malachi 3:10 to “bring the full amount of your tithes to the Temple( the church), so that there will be plenty of food there. Put me to test and you will see that I will open the windows of heaven and pour out on you in abundance all kinds of good things.”
Tithe is just the 10% of your income. Lets assume your income for a month is 10,000 you will divide 10,000 by 10 and that will give you 1,000 which is your tithe that is the 10% of your income. Our God is a righteous God. Whenever He asks his children to do anything he always has a reward in mind for them. So lets check Malachi 3:11-12 for the reward of tithing “I will not let insects destroy your crops and your grapevines will be loaded with grapes. Then the people of all nations will call you happy, because your land will be a good place to live.” When you give God the 10% of your income He blesses the remaining 90% and He makes it sufficient for you. For every commandment of God you disobey there is a reward for it too and if you want to know the reward of disobeying God by not giving your tithe read the opposite of what Malachi 3:10-11 says. Remember God doesn’t owe  any man. He is righteous.
The Bible says in Psalms that when you give to the needy you lend to God and we know that God doesn’t forget our labour of love. Luke 6:38 says ” Give to others, and God will give to you. Indeed, you will receive a full measure, a generous helping, poured into your hands- all that you can hold. The measure you use for others is the one God will use for you.” I can’t over emphasize how important it is for you to give to God through every means you can because He will bless you for it. Don’t spend your money on unnecessary things when someone around you needs it to meet a need. Learn to give . Be generous, and you will be prosperous. Help others, and you will be helped(Prov 11:25).

The K.I.T Series- your social life.

Sitting inside the uncompleted class of the school I was posted to for “observation”( an exercise for teachers in training students in my school) I wondered why humans always form cliques. There is at least five cliques in this class now as I write. Some are discussing religious issues, some, girls stuff, while some guys are simply engrossed in the game they are playing. It suddenly dawns on me that life is meant to be shared and not to be lived alone.

We were created to do life together and those we do life with matter in the things we do in life. Even though there are at least five cliques in this class, there are still people that are in a corner on their own reading a book or listening to music or let me say “living in their own world.” Some people find it difficult to relate to people around them( based on different reasons though) while some people make friends at the snap of a finger. It doesn’t matter if you are not good at making friends , what matters is that you are willing to share your love, time, money and gifts with others and you are willing to take that risk now because indeed living life with others is a risk but it is a risk worth taking. It is a risk that makes life beautiful.

Have you ever wondered why we were given birth into a family as opposed to just dropping on the earth and discovering who we are on our own? One of the reasons is that God knows that we will need the love, security, attention and many more things that we can get from a family. God knows that we will always be better doing life together.
I am writing this to help girls see the advantage of having a female friend and to know that they can form a very healthy support system with the other girls in their lives. A female friend might have hurt you in time past but I want you to know that there is at least one girl out there that God has placed around you to help you and her get into the next phase of your lives. Will you not give her a chance into your life?
Stasi Eldredg said “To have a female friend is to relax into another soul and be welcomed in all that you are and all that you are not. When God gives a friend, he is entrusting us with the care of another’s heart. It is a chance to mother and to sister, to be a life giver, to help someone else become the woman she was created to be, to walk alongside her and call her deep heart forth.” So your friendships shouldn’t be taken likely. Below are the things I know will help you to be a better friend to your female friend:

1. Forgive easily: You wouldn’t have a friend that is perfect because you yourself aren’t perfect that is why forgiveness is key for you to grow in your friendship. You have to offer her mercy every now and then. Know the things to overlook and the things to take serious. And when dealing with issues, do it with wisdom and be sensitive to her feelings. Godly friendship is worth fighting for and praying for. Don’t allow the devil to use unforgiveness to destroy your friendship. Don’t give him a foothold. “Resentment and anger eat away at love as quickly as rust corrodes metal. One of lifes great tragedies is watching a relationship unravel over something that could’ve been resolved in one intelligent, adult conversation.”- Francine Rivers.

2.Love on her: Don’t behave as if she doesn’t mean anything to you; in doing so you might lose her. Express how much you love her; it isn’t enough for you to know it in your heart, you need to express it because she can’t see your heart. Call her, don’t wait for her to call you first. Make out time to listen to her. When you really actively listen, you discover how to pray for and support her. Listening unites hearts more than talking does. It is when you listen to her that you get to know things you never knew about her. You learn about her hopes, dreams, passion and fear. Buy her presents; it doesn’t have to be expensive just let it be thoughtful. You can make her a “why my friend is so awesome list” and leave it in her  pursue to find in the middle of the day. Go out with her. Learn to say “thank you” for the things she does for you. Celebrate her uniqueness. Let her know that you love her for her and stop comparing her with  yourself or with other girls. Friendship is an investment LOVE ON HER.

3.Don’t betray her trust:Trust is earned and it develops with time as friendship does. You might not be able to build it again when destroyed so be careful. Trust her as much as she trust you. Anything she tells you should remain with you except she gives you the permission to do otherwise. Don’t gossip about her, it’ll backfire. I look forward to seeing a generation of girls that can spend time together without gossiping. Every girl should be able to keep a secret.

4. Understand that friendships are for different seasons and time: sometimes life happens and people make their choices and stop being who they were in our lives(either intentionally or unintentionally) so it takes wisdom to be able to identify when to move on. It might be painful but if you’ve done every reasonable thing you can to keep your friendship with the person and it isn’t working you have to move on. Friendship shouldn’t be forced. It should come easily as love does. It is a two sided thing, the two parties should be actively involved in making their friendship grow deeper, stronger, longer and better. It is a beautiful thing to have a person as your friend for years but if it doesn’t happen be grateful for the time you had with the person and MOVE ON.

5.Know who a friend is to you and associate yourself with safe people:       Knowing who a friend is to you helps you not to expect too much from the person. Safe people are people that have a “growing” relationship with Jesus and are pursuing his plans for their lives, they are secure in who they are and you being your best isn’t a threat to them while unsafe people are defensive and receive advice as criticism. They aren’t integrity-inclined, they have a hard time admitting when they are struggling with something or going through a tough time and they are jealous of other friendships you are investing in. There are three zones of friends:
Zone 1– contains your closest friends. They display a genuine love for Jesus, inspire and challenge you to grow in your faith, give you a balance advice, hold you accountable when needed, have earned your trust over time, are a real friend to your future and have fun doing life with you.
Zone 2-  contains friends you hang out with. They have similar values as you, demonstrate qualities that are trustworthy, make reasonable decisions, easy to get along with and are considerate of others.
Zone 3– are your acquaintances. They spend time with you every now and again, they are fun to be around and they have similar interests as you.

6. Make new friends: Don’t be scared to step out of your comfort zone. Each friend you have adds a new, vibrant hue that colours your life experience! Your world gets brighter and larger everytime you step out of your comfort zone and invest in friendships with people who are different than you are.
Make friends with people with different personalities. It makes your friend circle to be more fun.
Have friends of different ages. You will gain a great deal of wisdom by hanging around an older woman who has a genuine faith in Jesus. She has weathered a few stones and you need to hear how she did it! Make sure to connect with women who can encourage you and help you as you navigate different seasons of your life. No matter what your age is, you are an OLDER woman. Right now, someone who is a few years younger than you are could use your advice and support. Make sure to reach out and encourage the younger women in your world. You can be the friend you wish you had when you were her age. SHE NEEDS YOU.
Have friends from different cultures. You would be exposed to more cultures, traditions and ways of doing life than you ever thought possible! When you embrace friends with different last names, languages, skin tones and traditions, we show the world that through Jesus it is possible to love one another without prejudice.
Make friends with people with different interests. Your world becomes larger when you open yourself to the differing interests your friends have, you discover you become smarter because of them.

Remember that a man who wants a friend must first show himself friendly and there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother- He is Jesus Christ. He really wants to be your friend. He is the coolest friend you can ever have. Accept him today. Till I write to you on “the K.I.T Series- your financial life” keep doing life together with others. I love you but not as much as Christ does!

The love that will never let me go!

Feeling low and depressed
Thinking of putting an end to all of this
Yes, I want to put an end to all of this
In fact I have one hundred and one reasons to, but I don’t want it to end like this.

Broken and shattered
living within Love and hatred
Trust and mistrust
Trying to discover what is real
Yet, I don’t know what to believe again or maybe I haven’t even believed anything at all.
Then I heard a voice “I am near to them that are of a broken heart, and I save such that have a contrite spirit. I, I AM, I am REAL. I Am EVERYTHING you want me to be to you.”

Musing about everything I have lost, everything I don’t have and everything I think I won’t be able to have.
He said to me “You aren’t a victim.”
“Life have been so unfair to me.” I told him amidst tears.
” The world wasn’t fair to me too.” I mused, “You don’t understand. I’m not wanted.” I continued.
” I want you. I’ve always wanted you and I’ll forever want you. Remember nights when you slept but your heart was wild awake from musing over how much you wished someone loved you. I was there. I was there each time you cried speaking softly to you, telling you to come with me to the place where I’ll lead you but you never gave me a chance.”
“I’m scared! I don’t know what to believe again. My innocence have been taken away from me. I didn’t even have a normal childhood. I’m defiled.” I said sobbing
” Defiled! No you aren’t. You are my sister, my love, my dove, my delight and my undefiled. My desire is towards you. You! Yes You! You are mine!”
” Stop it!” I cried out. “Stop lying to me. I know the things I’ve done. I’m brutal and wicked! I am weak when I ought to be strong even easily deceived. I am not what you say or think I am.”
“Listen My beloved, though your sins be as red as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson they shall be as wool. I made you perfect. You are the last of everything I created  not because you are worthless but because you are the peak of my creativity. You are tender and delicate for a reason.
Your desire have always been for the MAN but that can change if you decide to accept my love for you because no one can truly love you like I do. As a matter of fact I’ve been with you from birth. From your mother’s womb I have cared for you. I’ve searched you and I know you. It will interest you to know that all your days and how you will spend it are written in my book and my thought towards you are precious to give you a hope and a future but you have to trust me.”
“Will you help me take this step because I’m afraid I might be wrong.”
” I’ll help you my beloved. I’ll never leave you, never forsake you. I promise you love! Love!! And more love!!!. Remember you are living in a broken world and things won’t always go the way you envisage but I want you to know that through it all I will be with you and even to your gray hairs will I carry you.
‪  Never listen to the devil when he tells you that you have no value because you are invaluable to me. You have a grand role to play in my scheme of life; you aren’t invisible, I notice you. Please learn to see yourself in and through My eyes that your face may be brightened and that you may not be ashamed. Make sure you also don’t hide away your true self because of fear;  apart from giving me a chance in your life this will be your greatest act of faith. Be vulnerable, kind, sweet, courageous, strong and yet tender,be gentle and yet wise, be all I created you to be because I got your back!.”
Having said this He stretched forth His hand towards me and I accepted the offer to dance with Him and ever since I’ve given him a chance in my life I’ve never regretted that I did.
Thank you… for not  giving up on me.
